Port of Townsville is a seaport in Townsville, Queensland. It is the third largest seaport in Queensland after Port of Brisbane and the Central Queensland Port in Gladstone. Port of Townsville handles numerous imports and exports mainly, Mineral Ores, Fertiliser, Concentrates, Sugar and Motor Vehicles. It also handles visiting US Navy and RAN ships usually picking up soldiers or RnR in Townsville. The port is also able to handle 4 Panamax vessels at any consecutive time.
   In December 2007 future Prime Minister Kevin Rudd announced that if he won the election that $95 million would be provided for the construction of the Townsville Port Access Road.
   This matches the Queensland Government provision of $95 million and enables the road to begin construction.
